This hike was gorgeous start to finish.

I parked up at the larger car park which is an extra 10minutes walk to the starting point. Very large carpark and lots of other campers.

I parked up just after 3pm and decided to do a sunset walk, packed my head torch incase Id get caught out in the dark on my way down. As I started my ascent I met a lot of people walking down.

The first part of the walk is woodlands and it's absolutely beautiful. As you get higher up you get glimpses of mountain tops and waterfalls and about 1.45h into your walk after some tricky bits but not too difficult, you reach the lake.
With the stunning backdrop of mountains around it and the sun setting I could not recommend a better time to do the hike. With 2h until dark there was maybe 10 people up there (Low season, end of September) so I sat down enjoyed the view and had my snack, watching the clouds circle the peak of a mountain.

Then I got up and got some mandatory photos. Cause when you travel solo you need photos to show how beautiful all the places where and since you have no-one to share it with in the moment.

But also, I just love documenting everything. what can I say. After about 30-40 min I started my decent, worried Id get caught in the dark, but in hindsight slightly wishing I'd stayed for longer and fully seen the sun set over the lake. I made it down to my van bang on sunset hour and made dinner and went to bed.
