The Rat Race - Coast to Coast Scotland 2026

It all started with a break up, which lead me to sign up for a half marathon, then I found the Rat Race - Coast to Coast Scotland and so after my half Mara I signed up.
I had a year to train for a 11Km long run and a 125km cycle, 22km trail run over a mountain and finish with a 1,6km kayak. 100miles in total to be completed over one day. So in preparation for this race I decided to sign up for a full marathon, so in March I ran the Barcelona Marathon.
And in September I completed the Rat Race Coast to Coast.
What an epic day to be out in nature and eventho the winds were against us the whole day and I was thinking in my head "how am I gonna do the run after this cycle" Which felt so hard. But I did, the legs just kept on going and I completed the race after 12h. Now I know this isn't a placement race but a personal acchivement race but after becoming the 3rd woman to finish and place 30 overall, it feels like such an achievement (especially after getting the start time wrong and starting out last, oops) and especially since a year and a half ago, I didn't even run. I couldn't run more than 3km without bending over with exhaustion.
I can't describe the feeling of reaching that goal after such a long training block and I'm still digesting it.
Now I'm wondering what's gonna be my next challenge of doing something I'm a little bit scared of..
